1. Is Takaful meant for Muslims only?
No, Takaful is opened to any individual regardless of his/her religious beliefs. No additional terms and conditions are imposed upon non-Muslim participants.
2. How is Takaful different from conventional insurance?
Takaful is based on Islamic principle of Shariah as compared to conventional insurance. It involves participants reaching a common agreement to guarantee each other against defined loss of damage by contributing Tabarru’ (donation) to the Takaful funds. However, it still shares the same main objectives with conventional insurance that is to provide protection to you, your loved ones and your valuable possessions.
3. How do I know which Takaful plan is the best for me?
Firstly, think about what you need to protect or cover and your future needs. From this website, you can click on our Products page and mouse over our Product Chooser to see what products would best suit your needs. We have a range of Family Takaful and General Takaful products that you can choose from for your needs.

4. What is the difference between Agency and Bancatakaful?
PruBSN products are available through two distribution channels, namely through our agency force and Bancatakaful. Each channel handles a separate list of PruBSN products. Please check our product listing page for further details.
Our agency force comprises the PruBSN Direct Agents and Prudential Assurance agents. As for Bancatakaful, the products are sold through our Takaful Finance Executives who are located at selected Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN) branches.
Depending on the product you have selected, you can either get your Takaful plan through our agency force or through our Takaful Finance Executives at selected BSN branches.
6. What do I need to purchase a plan?
For Family Takaful products, all you need to bring is your identity card and fill in the proposal form with our agents or at the BSN branches. You may be required to do a health check in some cases. For General Takaful products, you may need to bring all relevant legal documents for your home and belongings, depending on what you need to protect.
7. How can i pay for my contribution?
You can pay your contributions either by cash, cheque or credit card through our agents, or through the Auto Debit facility at selected BSN branches.
8. Will i be entitle for personal tax relief when i get a Takaful Plan?
Yes, you would be eligible for personal tax relief when you participate in any Takaful plan. We will issue an annual contribution statement to support your income tax statement to the Inland Revenue Board.
9. What is mean by investment link plans?
An investment-linked insurance plan is a plan that combines both investment and protection whereby part of your contribution will be invested in specific investment funds of your choice.

10. What are the investment-linked funds offered by PruBSN Takaful?

11. What do I do if I need to make a claim?

12. What happens if I do not pay my contributions?
Should there be insufficient units accumulated in your account, your certificate will lapse.
